Top 5 Tools for ADHD (as recommended by the ADHD community)

Last week in my newsletter, I dropped my Top 5 Tips for ADHD from 2022 and I promised that this week I’d send over a list of some of my favorite TOOLS that I’m using that I can’t shut up about. Not only are these MY favorite ADHD-friendly tools, these items are the most recommended within the My Lady ADHD community. One of the best things about having the community is that it’s a great place for me to learn from others — what’s working for them will most likely also work for me. So, here we go…. In no particular order…

Top 5 Tools for ADHD

Time Timer

I’m basically obsessed with this product. Not only do they come in adorable colors, but they are also one of the only products that continues to work for me time and time again (haha get it?) It’s a visual timer that doesn’t make a loud ticking noise and also allows you the option to turn the ringer on or off - so that you’re not scared half to death when the time is up. I use this timer for utilizing the pomodoro method and it helps me work for short bursts of time. 15/10 recommend

Pipersong Meditation Chair

If you follow me on social media, you already know that I’m madly in love with this chair. This thing has changed the way that I function at work. I can finally sit the way that I was made to - which is HOWEVER I WANT. Ha! This chair is a game-changer and I hope to see it become more accessible for people in the workplace, in schools, etc. I love this thing. You can check it out HERE

Your Brain’s Not Broken book by Tamara Rosier

I know I mentioned this one recently because I was fortunate enough to interview the author on my podcast - but this one is another great tool that just helps me understand my brain a little better. (Which we all need, right?) The book is a super ADHD-friendly read - with short bursts of info told in an interesting way. I will be launching a book club in March and this will be our first book! If you’re interested in staying up to speed on the book club and the launching of ADHD Social (our new platform for facilitating ADHD friendships/community) you can sign up for updates HERE.

Sunsama

One of the most common questions I hear is, “what type of planner are you using??” — and this is tough because it changes for me from year to year, month to month, even day-to-day if I’m being honest. But one that I’m loving right now is Sunsama. It’s so simple and ADHD-friendly, and was recommended to me by several other ADHD Advocates… so there must be something there, right? One of the best things about it is that you can get a 14-day free trial with NO CREDIT CARD NEEDED. That speaks my ADHD language, amirite? You can try Sunsama HERE

Loop Earplugs

These earplugs are recommended to me within the ADHD community more than any other product, BY FAR. They can be used to help you sleep, parent, work, focus and more. Plus, they come in all different colors and varieties that make them very versatile from person-to-person. If you’re struggling to focus at work because of the distractions around you, I’d recommend starting here - with Loop.
