Finding friends when you have ADHD can be a challenge - but keeping up with friendships can offer a whole new set of struggles for these beautiful squirrel-brains of ours. Some of the very symptoms of ADHD: Impulsivity, hyperactivity, inattention, and so-on… can interfere with our ability to find/maintain friendships. And it sucks sometimes.

For example: You may have a difficult time remembering birthdates/important events and texting/calling people back may be a struggle. All of these things can cause frustration within our friendships.

On the flip side, most of us have a lot of STRENGTHS that make us GREAT friends, such as:

  • Adventurous

  • Boundless amounts of energy

  • Conversationalists (I personally connect to this one, Ha!)

  • Generous

  • Empathetic

  • Great sense of humor

This week on the podcast, I’m talking about THIS VERY THING with my (amazing) friend Katie Sue. We get very personal in this episode about our struggles with friends - and I know you’re gonna want to hear this one because it’s SOOO relatable.

Friendship has been such a struggle for me, that when I finally found my ADHD friends - everything felt EASIER. Other people with ADHD were the missing link in my life and now, I want to help others find the kind of long-lasting, authentic friendships that I’ve found within this incredible community.

Connecting on Instagram just isn’t enough.

That’s why I’ve spent many, many months working (almost obsessively) with three of my best friends - ADHD Content Creators, Coaches, and Advocates to build an entirely new place for ADHDers to connect and find friendship & community.

And.. SURPRISE! It’s launching TODAY and you are the very first to know about it! ADHD Social is officially open and I can’t tell you how excited I am to see this thing bloom.

Check it out here!!

There are so many beautiful things about ADHD Social - but I’ll list just a few:

  • Find friends who “GET IT”

  • Join a Book Club

  • Social Hours

  • Art Nights

  • Mindfulness Club

  • Community

  • Peer Support

  • Workshops & Courses

  • And much more!
